This micrometer is marked SCHERR-TUMICO – ST. JAMES, MINN. U.S.A. on the barrel.

The frame is stamped “32-40” and has decimal equivalents for fractions, 32nds and 64ths, making it handy for quick conversions at the bench.

The spindle has a tapered/pointed measuring tip, ideal for getting into grooves, narrow shoulders, small lands, and other hard-to-reach areas that a standard flat-anvil micrometer can’t reach.
