Vintage AKRON ECLIPSE LEVEL, 28”, Wooden Brass Bound, Pat.
12-20-04, Used: This level was
manufactured by the Baker Mc Millen Co. in Akron, Ohio. It is in good condition for its
age. It measures 28” in length, 3-1/16”
in height and 1-7/16” in width. It
features 2 vials that are intact, brass bound and have a ¼” black band in the
middle to make it easier to read the bubble.
Each end of the level is brass bound.
There is a brass insert above the vertical vial and a long sight slotted
brass inset above the horizontal vial.
This longer insert has the brand, manufacturer and patent date stamped
on it. The most unique feature of this
level is that it is made of 3 pieces of wood that are laminated and partially
held together by the brass end caps and inserts. This vintage level will make a fine addition
to a vintage workshop or collection. We
