This very hard to find Vintage Stanley #96 Chisel Plane, also called a Chisel Gauge, circa 1888 -1900, is in very good condition. There is surface rust, but it will clean up nicely if so desired. We have not cleaned or refurbished this plane in any manner, as we leave those decisions up to the eventual buyer. This plane has "STANLEY" stamped on one side and above that the initials "WTG" are stamped from a previous owner. This plane does not have Patent #'s or dates of Patent Applications. We do not see any evidence of Nickel plating on this tool.
