Vintage Starrett Lock Joint Transfer Style 6” Inside Caliper, Used: This caliper came from an older estate. There is no Starrett catalog number on it, but it is No. 37-6. The right hand front leg of the caliper reads “L.S. Starrett Co. Athol Mass U.S.A. Pat May 21, 1885. These calipers could be 100 years old or older. They are in very good condition and will provide years of continued use. This allows you to transfer a measurement when you need to go over an object by lifting a leg and return the leg to the correct measurement. Transfer Calipers have 3 features: a locking joint; a transfer arm and a fine adjustment screw. The caliper has the previous owner’s initials lightly engraved on one leg.
