Mora Carving #106 – Laminated Steel style knife (or equivalent laminated-steel Mora) manufactured in Sweden. The blade is stamped “Made in Sweden Laminated Steel” (as shown in the photos) and the handle is birch wood. This is a high-quality laminated-steel blade: a hardened high-carbon steel core clad in tougher outer layers for durability and edge-holding.

Key Features & Specifications:

• Blade material: laminated steel (inner high-carbon core, outer alloyed steel) for toughness and a fine edge.

• Country of origin: Sweden. The manufacturer (in the small town of Mora/Morakniv area) has been producing knives for centuries.

• Handle: Birch wood (oiled finish) — ergonomic, comfortable for carving or general use.

• Blade style: (From your photo) a slender tapered blade (approximate blade length: you should measure).

• Condition: (Insert your condition notes: any rust spots, wear on handle, sharpness of blade, handle finish condition, whether sheath included etc.)

Why It’s Special / Why Choose It:

• Laminated-steel construction offers the best of both worlds: the hard core holds a sharp edge, the softer outer layers absorb shock and add durability.

• Swedish heritage: Knives from the Mora region are well regarded among carvers, outdoors people, and craft-knife users.

• Great for carving, general utility, display or as a collectible tool.

• Superb handle ergonomics and aesthetic of the birch wood.

Use & Care Tips:

• Because it is high-carbon laminated steel, it may require more prompt drying/oiling after use to prevent rust.

• Keep the edge honed; laminated blades can take a very fine edge but may be susceptible to micro-chipping if abused (especially in heavy batoning).

• Store in a dry place; oil the blade and handle occasionally to maintain birch wood finish and steel condition.
