This Vintage TOYANG POWER JAWS Plier is rare.  It is not like the Vintage Power Jaws pipe wrenches seen on eBay and the net.  Instead, it is a spring loaded adjustable jaw plier that is similar to a Channellock or Knipex plier in function and use, but it has a spring loaded cam action handle for extra power.  The same spring loaded cam action handle was used on the more common Power Jaws pipe wrench.  The raised lettering on one side of the plier says "PATENTED  POWER JAWS (with the trademark pipe wrench jaws at the bottom tip of the J)".  The other side of the plier has "C.V" and the "TOYANG" trademark logo in raised letters.  

The "JAWS" trademark by TOYANG MOTOR ENTERPRISES CORP. Feng Yuan, Taiwan was registered in the USA in 1985.  However, it was abandoned in 1988 after an INTER-PARTES DECISION.

This plier has a chrome finish, with the housing that holds the sliding jaw in polished chrome.  The top and bottom jaws are serrated.  The adjustable jaw has teeth that lock it in place when pressure is applied.
